Who is building this

I came to this from directing and interactive narrative, by way of product. At G5 Entertainment I built and led a narrative function of around fifty people. For several years after that I worked out the methodology behind Janus, and since early 2026 I have been building the system itself, hands-on, with AI-assisted development tools.

The combination is unusual, and it is worth naming rather than smoothing over. Directing is practice at designing how a person’s attention and judgment move through a sequence someone else laid out — which is what an interaction policy is. Building the system is what keeps the rest of this site from being a position paper.

Janus is one person’s company today. That is a real limitation and no wording on this page makes it a smaller one. What sits against it is on the page aboutwhat runs — a thing rather than an intention.
